Novais 2023 - One barrel from a unique parcel

Novais 2023 is a mysterious and fascinating wine, a micro-cuvée from a plot of rare beauty. The result of a rigorous mass selection of very old local vines grafted onto vines planted in 2002. A unique experience, the plot from which it comes is for us a magnificent ode to our region, beautifully using its past to imagine and create its future. This wine is a promise, an invitation to patience and to the discovery of a hidden treasure. 

Aromatically this wine is unlike anything else : full of passionfruit and pepper on the nose, more reminiscent of a white wine rather than a red. Mouth is definitely red, textured, tannic, with a fine and long acidity blending all of it together.

• Grapes : Unknown, about  85% reds, 15% whites.
• Winemaking : Classic stainless steel tank, whole-clusters maceration.
• Ageing : One year in a used oak barrel.
• Special features : "Chèvre-à-deux-becs" bottling, no sulfur added. 220 bottles produced, 35 magnums
• Terroir : Granitic. very small plot.
